I Tore It Down, and Rebuilt It
When I first conceived this project in 2015, I never could have imagined the trajectory it would take. Being here feels like an unexpected plot twist in my own story—somewhere between a Squarespace ad and a blank canvas of content. But then again, isn't it through a series of semi-destructive reinventions that we truly find ourselves? Isn't it about the rinse, lather, repeat cycle until we arrive at a destination we are happy with?
Over the years, I’ve learned the hard way that my time has become more valuable than the skills I possess. After dedicating many years to graphic design, web design, web hosting, and system administration, I have decided it's time to step back from managing it all myself. The last version of this site was built on WordPress—a platform I admire, yet one that demands an incredible amount of upkeep.
The additional burden of security and patch maintenance gradually transformed my passion into a chore. It got to the point where I didn't even feel like writing anymore. Didn't I launch this site to express myself, I found myself questioning. Amid motorcycle crashes, pandemics, and an all-consuming career, I realized that my life was not quite the picture-perfect vision I had once painted.
Did I really need this house that echoes with my solitude?
Why was I investing so heavily in something that didn't feel essential?
How much material wealth did I truly require?
Why wasn't I lounging on a beach somewhere in a foreign country, where I was the minority?
I've lost count of the different versions of myself I've presented to the world. But I do know this: it's time for a seismic shift. I’m starting anew right here—a fresh platform to articulate my thoughts, document my wonders and perhaps even chronicle the trials and tribulations I'm about to face. It seems like the perfect narrative to return to, a tale of picking up scattered pieces and creating something new. I'm eager to let my creativity flow again, and hopefully, inspire others along the way.
